This is a fundraising only directory that averages over 21,000 unique visitors; 26,000 visits; and 61,000 page views each month. While visitors include members and supporters of all types of organizations the overwhelming majority are schools, sports teams, church groups, day cares, service groups, animal welfare, fraternal organizations, and other similar groups who use fundraisers to help support their programs. Listings are 100% Free Over 95% of all fundraising sites submitted to the All Fundraising Companies Directory are added within one week of submission. The two basic requirements are simple: 1. Your site must contain a detailed description of your fundraising program. This means your program that allows other groups to raise funds, not how your group can raise funds, and 2. You must have placed our AFCD icon with a reciprocal link to our home page on either your home page or on a page with significant fundraising content that is linked directly from your home page prior to submission. While quality reciprocal links benefit us, links on non-qualifying pages range from no value to our site to actually hurting us with the current search engine algorithms and rankings. Reciprocal links on generic links pages, non-fundraising pages, other sites, low content pages or orphan pages do not qualify.
We recognize that some site owners may be unable or unwilling to meet these two requirements. However, since we offer three free listings for each site (product category, geographic location and alphabetical by company name) that provide significant additional site exposure, we feel that our listing requirements are very reasonable, and those sites will not be listed. Sites Not Eligible For a Listing Although the overwhelming majority of sites submitted are added to the All Fundraising Companies Directory, we reserve the right to determine whether or not a site is appropriate to be listed. For the most part sites that are rejected are: 3. Sites utilizing free hosting services (AOL, Google, Yahoo!, etc.). We are not saying there is anything wrong with these sites but they tend to come and go pretty quickly, and rarely offer anything significantly different that sites already listed in the All Fundraising Companies Directory. 4. Affiliate/Distributor sites (Home & Garden Party, Avon, Scent-Sations, Tupperware, etc.). Again, we are not saying there is anything wrong with these sites but including identical sites/programs for multiple affiliates is of no benefit to the All Fundraising Companies Directory or the fundraising groups who visit our site. Effective April 19, 2010, we will add the first distributor/affiliate submitted per company. Subsequent submissions will be rejected. 5. Multi-Level Marketing sites - While we recognize that some of these sites do have a fundraising component, that is not their primary focus and we do not feel that they offer good fundraising alternatives. Exceptions? Wait a minute! I see some of the sites in the Directory that you say will not be included! You are correct. Our paid advertisers are not required to have reciprocal links. In addition, the Directory has been in existence since 1997 and policies have changed over the years. We are in the process of reviewing all categories for sites that do not meet our current listing guidelines. If the site owners are unable to comply, we are either leaving their listings but removing the link to their site (see bottom of candy page) or we are removing the listing altogether. Listing Modifications We only provide one free listing modification so please review your submission closely. The second and subsequent modifications are $20 each - payable in advance. We don't want your money! It's just that all modifications are done manually and this keeps them to a minimum. Site Review, Removal & Reinstatement 1. Each month our automated link checking service verifies that the URLs of the sites listed in our directory and the page where our icon/link were to be placed (if different) are still active. When we receive a report of "dead" pages, we manually verify that the sites are in fact not active and remove the listings we are unable to access without notification. This ensures that our site visitors don't waste time trying to access sites that no longer exist. 2. We conduct periodic manual reviews of all listings to verify that our AFCD icon and reciprocal link are still on the same page they were when the site was added (or the new page if we have been so notified).
